アジアカップ2015、楽しんでますか？

 

今年は私の留学先、オーストラリアで開催されています！

 

中国とタイの友だちと一緒に中国vsサウジアラビアの試合観戦のためブリスベンへ行きました。

 

今回はそこであった面白いお話をしようと思います。

 

タイ人の友だちが母国語でメールを打ってるときに見た、"5555"という謎のフレーズ。

 

顔文字か何かかな？と思い聞いてみると、

 

タイ語で5は'ha'と発音して、これは'わはは！'と笑う時の表現なんだそう。

 

お話はこれで終わりじゃありません。

 

中国人の友だちはそれを聞いて、中国語では5を'wu'と発音して、'うううう…'と泣く時の表現だと教えてくれました。

 

同じ数字を見て誰かは笑ってる、その一方で誰かは泣いてるって言うんです、面白いでしょう？

 

それでは私たちにとってはなんでしょうね。

 

5を'go'と解釈していいのなら… アジアカップ優勝は誰の手に？

Do you enjoy watching Asian Cup 2015?

As you know, it is taking place around Australia!

 

I went to Brisbane with my friends who are Chinese and Thai, to cheer on China.

Then, I found out a funny thing from my Thai friend who was texting in Thai to her another friend.

I saw that one phrase she texted was '5555'. I thought it represented some feeling or emotion, such as a smile or a wink face.

I asked her, what it meant in her language. She said that 5 is pronounced 'ha' in her language.

Therefore, 5555 stands for laughing!

 

This story hasn't finished yet, my Chinese friend said to me, it means crying in their language.

That's why they pronounce 5 as 'wu'.

 

Some people look at the number and they say it's laughing while some other people say it's crying, that's so interesting!

What about us?

I was wondering if I could say it means 'go'.
