私は６月６日にTOEICを受けました。

 

今回TOEICを受けようと思ったきっかけは、今の自分の実力を知りたかったからです。私がTOEICを受けるのは今回が２回目でした。

 

１回目は去年専門学校に入学して５月に受けました。その時は２時間も英語と向き合うこと自体が私には辛かったです。

 

高校生の時からそんなに英語に触れる機会がなかったので、もちろん成績もひどかったです。

 

そんな私がオーストラリアに来てから、今年の６月のTOEICで前回の倍のスコアをとることができました。

 

私は自分のTOEICのスコアが上がった理由は生活の変化だと思います。

 

日本ホテルスクールでの授業は８割がネイティブの先生による英語の授業でした。

 

その授業にもついていくのが大変だったし、ついていけないときも多々ありました。

 

日本ホテルスクールで分からないなりにも英語を聞き続けたことはもちろん、私は今オーストラリアで現地の家にホームステイしています。

 

毎日テレビ、ラジオ、ホストファミリーとの会話から英語が聞こえてきます。

 

テレビのNEWSも何を言っているのかわからないけれど、ホストが見ているので、私も一緒に見ています。

 

 

それに、平日は毎日、ホームスグレン専門学校へ行っています。

 

クラスメイトは多国籍で日本語で話してもわかってもらえないので、みんな英語で会話しています。

 

他国のアクセントは日本と違っていてとても難しいけれど、日々勉強になっています。

 

毎週水曜日はTOEICの授業があります。この授業では、リスニングとリーディングを勉強しています。

 

授業内容は先生がリスニング、リーディングの練習問題をくれて、それを解いて解説していきます。

 

少人数クラスなので、何か質問があればすぐに聞けます。この授業は、私にとってTOEICの問題に触れるとてもいい機会です。

 

今後もこの授業は続くので、まだまだ頑張ります。

 

私は今回の結果に満足していないので、日本に帰る頃には今よりも300点上を目標にがんばります。

 

I took the TOEIC test on 6 Junen. It was the second time in my life.

 

I wanted to know my English level.

 

Last year I took the TOEIC test at the vocational school in Japan for the first time, it was very hard for me to sit for the English test for 2hours. At that time my score was very bad because when I was a high school student I didn’t have enough chance to use English.

 

But I was able to get the double score this time!

 

I think the reason why my score improved is the change of life style.

 

At the vcational school in my class in Japan, about 80% teachers were almost native speakers so often I couldn’t understand what the teachers were saying, but I had to listen to them.

 

And now I live in Australia with my host family. Every day I hear English from TV, radio, and talk with my host family. I can’t understand about news on the TV but when my host mother watches TV, I also watch TV.

 

Furthermore, I go to the school to study English every day. My classmates speak English because if I speak Japanese nobody understands me. People from another country have a different accent from, but it is good for me to study English.

 

Every Wednesday I have TOEIC class. In this class I study reading and listening. The contents of this class, teachers give me worksheets and I answer the questions. After that teacher explain each question. This class is a small class so if I have a question I can ask the teacher easily. It is very good for me to practice for TOEIC.　I will do my best at the class in the next term.

 

Finally, I’m not satisfied with my current score so my goal is to take 300 higher score when I go back to Japan.
